Google has put forth the shared recommendation scheme so that your recommendations, reviews and other relevant feedback are displayed against the ad along with your name and photo, provided you have agreed for the same. Through this channel, your recommendations can reach out to people within your network especially your target audience.
Through this channel, you as well as your network can be aware of new products launches and services, current happenings, trendy places to shop or visit and the feedback on the same posted either by you or by them. This goes a long way in helping each other to get the best results out of a search. You could even add +1 added against a new product or a music album or apparel and endorse it to the next level.
For endorsing and sharing them, you need to –
- Sign in to your Google account. In case you arrive at a Google Help page, make sure you complete the creation of your account before proceeding.
- Visit the Shared Endorsements setting page and upgrade your account, this is required if you are not a Google+ user
- For participating in the shared endorsements drive which allows your name and photo to be displayed against relevant ads, make sure you tick the box next to “Based upon my activity, Google may show my name and profile photo in shared endorsements that appear in ads”. Remember to save your settings.
- In case you do not wish to participate in shared endorsements you need to untick the box and save your settings. This means your recommendations will not be shared with your friends and followers.
As mentioned in the above steps, you can decide upon sharing the endorsements or not through settings in the Shared Endorsements section especially your name and photograph. Also, Google will not consider actions of users below 18 years within the ads displayed through the Shared Endorsements and anywhere else too.
